For the better part of the last decade, hunter numbers have been on the decline.. But over that same period there’s one demographic that continues to see rising numbers. That demographic? Women.  According to Forbes and The New York Times, female hunters are soaring. And we have a feeling this is only the beginning. Why? Because of the hard work of amazing women hunters, sparking the hearts and minds of our next generation. Here’s a look at three incredible female hunters buck-ing the stereotypes and inspiring the future.

EVA SHOCKEY @evashockey

Possibly the most recognized female hunter in North America, Eva has traveled the world to hunt as the co-host of Jim Shockey’s Hunting Adventures. The Vancouver-born hunting star has become an inspiration to female and male hunters alike. Appearing on ABC’s Nightline and the Fox Business Network, Eva has been lauded as the “new face of hunting.” She was also featured alongside country music sensation Miranda Lambert in an award-winning Ram Trucks commercial. And she is the second woman to ever grace the cover of Field & Stream magazine (the first was Queen Elizabeth featured in 1976). Her book, Taking Aim, is one of Amazon’s top 150 books and is a must read for any aspiring hunter. A memoir of adventure, skill, healthy living, and finding one’s true life calling, it takes us on her journey from non-hunter to hunter.

AMANDA LYNN MAYHEW @amandalynnmayhew

One of our favourite’s, Amanda has used her passion for hunting and fitness to quickly become one of the most accomplished and popular faces of the outdoors. Hailing from Northern Ontario, not only is Amanda the host of Just Hunt TV and THAT Hunting Girl, but she also supports newbies in their pursuit of hunting. She has founded such outreach programs as the Range Day, Take Me Hunting and Take Me Fishing designed to help new adventurers get out there and start shooting. And that’s something for which we here at CGS are sincerely grateful.

ALLIE D’ANDREA @outdoors_allie

Best known as Outdoors Allie, she grew up with a love for the outdoors. And when Allie turned 19, she discovered a passion for hunting. This also triggered her advocacy for the public lands and wildlife conservation. Allie has become a proud co-founder of Artemis, a group of bold sportswomen creating fresh tracks for conservation. Her Youtube channel is a must-watch — for everything from hunting and fishing to gear reviews.

Thanks to these fierce and fearless females, the future of hunting is bright and badass.
